Schedule

Schedule will be posted the Tuesday prior to tournament weekend. Please do not email or call with schedule-related questions before then.

Occasionally, there are unavoidable changes that happen after the schedule is posted on Tuesday. It is best practice to check back the day before the tournament to ensure there have been no changes.

Venue/Directions

Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (North and South Exhibition Halls):

Coach/Team Check In

Friday night check in will NOT be available for Bama Beast. Coaches will be able to check their teams in as early as 6:30am in the pre-function area of both the North and East exhibition halls on Saturday morning.

There will not be a coaches meeting. Please review the competition format.

Tie-Breaking Protocol

Tie-breaking matches will not be played in this event. In the event of a tie in pool play, the tie will be broken based on head-to-head results (where two teams are tied for one position), set percentage or point percentage in that order. If any teams are still tied after comparing point percentage, a coin flip will break the tie.

Team Referee Obligations

Referee schedules are included in the pool assignments. With few exceptions, teams losing in bracket play on Sunday will ref the next match on that court. It is possible that your team will have to ref the match before you play, regardless of your match time. If you are scheduled to ref the match before you play, please be in place no later than 15 minutes prior to the start time.

Trainers

A certified athletic trainer, will be on-site throughout the duration of the event. Please bring your own tape (or other supplies) if you want them to wrap your ankles.

Chairs

Outside chairs are not permitted in the BJCC. Chairs will be provided.

Volleyballs

Teams must bring their own warm-up volleyballs and ball carts to the event.

Admissions

Admissions will be located in the pre-function area of the North Hall.

Admissions will open at 6:30 am on both Saturday and Sunday.

Spectators-including “chaperones” or “team reps”-whether rostered or not-will be charged $15 per day for admittance to the tournament. If you are planning on attending both days, you can purchase both a Saturday and Sunday pass at the same time. Players, coaches, and college coaches will be admitted without cost upon checking in.

All wrist bands must be worn on the wrist in order to enter the facility.

Credit cards, debit cards, and cash will all be accepted.

Ages 10 and under will be admitted for free.

Artificial Noise

No speakers, radios, air horns, bells or the like will be permitted in the gym.

Food & Beverage

Concessions will be available on-site. More information coming soon-check back during tournament week!
