georgiachallenge2016 final

Simply download the embedded high-school-registration-form-2017 and follow the instructions contained thereon.  We’ve had one team drop, so as of April 8th we have one slot available.

Schedule – Doors will open at 7:00 a.m.; competition commences at 8:00 a.m. sharp. We expect the final match to conclude around 5 p.m.  The competition schedule will be posted about a week prior to the tournament.

Housing – we have blocked out rooms at the nearby Fairfield Inn Haynes Bridge for $79/night with breakfast included.  If you are in need of hotel rooms, simply contact the Fairfield and ask them for a room in the Southern Volleyball block:

Fairfield Inn Haynes Bridge.

11385 Haynes Bridge Road

Alpharetta GA 30004

Coaches Packet — There will be no coaches meeting.  We ask that you check in the tournament desk when your team arrives, at which time we will give you a coaches packet, which will take the place of a meeting.  The coaches packet is downloadable here if you would like to review it in advance:

Food Tables

We will provide enough tables for each team to use 1/2 table for food inside the gym. Please do not bring your own tables into the gym, as we do not have room for them.

If you desire more space and weather permits, tailgating outside is permitted and encouraged.  If you avail yourselves of this option, please set up your tents in the grassy area in front and to the side of the building — NOT in the parking field and certainly not in front of our neighbors’ vehicles.

Children under 10 are admitted free.  All others will need to pay a $5/person entrance fee.

There should be sufficient parking on site for this tournament.  If the front lot is full, there is room — along with a second entrance — to the rear of the building. We have two overflow alternatives in the event that ours is full — across Hembree Road in the Alpharetta Public Works Building, or the building immediately south of SVC – in the Endochoice lot.  Please do NOT park in the lot across the street serving AT&T, and do NOT park on the grass, in a reserved spot, or in a handicap spot (unless you display the proper credential), as violators will be towed.

If you have questions, please contact one of the following:

  1. Don Sloan says:

Bob/Michael – do we have a schedule for the GA Challenge (Varsity) yet? Thanks, Don

    • michael says:

Sorry for the delay in responding, Don. We’ve had one withdrawal and another minor conflict so have had to re-do the schedules. Will get these out to participating coaches this weekend (Labor Day).

I CAN tell you this: doors open at 8 a.m.; pool play commences at 9. The Championship Match is scheduled to begin at 4:00.

    Hey Michael –

I am Lindsay Seagraves mom and I am the coordinator for Walton. Can you please let me know if we will need to bring tables for our food table? Will the play schedule be posted so I can pass on to team and parents? Do parents need to bring chairs or will there be bleachers?

      Hi Leigh Anne,

We don’t have room to allow teams to bring tables into the building. We will furnish tables; each team will be allocated 1/2 table. Weather permitting many teams choose to tailgate outside.

The schedules have been forwarded to the coaches and won’t be posted on line.

We have plenty of chairs and bleachers but spectators are welcome to bring their own if they choose.

      Hope that helps.
