For the Boys — Commander in Chief’s Classic — February 16 – 17, 2019

As the Boys sport grows and evolves, we desire to remain at the forefront in hosting tournaments that are competitive as well as timely, given the Boys’ unique, bifurcated season.  Announcing the Commander in Chief’s Classic, to be held on February 16 – 17, 2019 — the Saturday and Sunday of Presidents Day Weekend.

Location – Georgia International Convention Center – connected to Atlanta’s airport and not to be confused with the Georgia World Congress Center downtown.

Food Tables, Chairs

The convention center will not allow food, coolers, etc. to be brought into the building.  A wide variety of food and snacks will be available at GICC’s concession stand as well as free-standing booths.  You may bring a folding chair if you wish, though seating is provided in the facility.

Space at SVC is constrained as well.  We do have a few tables for teams to share, but there’s just not enough room to spread the way you’d like.  There will be other training underway on two of the courts, exacerbating the space issue.  The GOOD NEWS in all of this is that–unlike the Convention Center venue – no gate is being charged at SVC.

There should be sufficient parking on site for this tournament.  If the front lot is full, there is room — along with a second entrance — to the rear of the building. We have two overflow alternatives in the event that ours is full — across Hembree Road in the Alpharetta Public Works Building, or the building immediately south of SVC – in the Endochoice lot.  Please do NOT park in the lot across the street serving AT&T, and do NOT park on the grass, in a reserved spot, or in a handicap spot (unless you display the proper credential), as violators will be towed.

The cost of admission is $5/day.  Doors to SVC will open at 7:00 a.m. both days of competition.

Artificial Noise — Please do not bring boom boxes, air horns, bells or the like into the gym.
