International Battle Between Boys Belligerents — Tentatively Scheduled for May 4-5

Years ago we were contacted by clubs competing at Big South, asking if we could put together a scrimmage or other activity for the boys; something for the volleyball-playing brothers to do while their sisters were competing downtown.  The resulting tournament has grown to be the largest Boys’ Tournament in the South outside a National Qualifier.  And we have added “International” to the moniker in recognition of the participation by teams from Bermuda and Canada.

This year, however, in response to the Boys’ bifurcated club season,  we are moving the Belligerents tournament to the first weekend of May — May 4 & 5.  If you’d like to compete in Atlanta prior to that date, consider our Commander in Chief’s Classic, to be held over Presidents Day weekend.

Registration will open 10/15/18 on Advanced Event Systems.

Location — Southern Volleyball Center

Waves — will be posted as far in advance of the tournament as possible so as to facilitate and optimize participants’ hotel arrangements.

An entrance fee of $5/person/day will be charged.

Hotel Accommodations — we have blocked out rooms that are economical and close to the competition venue:

Fairfield Inn and Suites Alpharetta

Food tables will be allowed but we ask that you use the tables we will provide for you and limit yourselves to 1/2 table per team.   Certainly you may set up tables outside and tailgate in that manner, weather permitting.

Coaches Meeting – There will be no coaches meeting at this tournament.  Rather, we will give coaches one Coaches Packet per team upon check-in and we will also post it on line.  This packet will contain a detailed description of each division’s format, along with information that will be of use for all tournament participants and spectators.

Artificial Noise — Please do not bring boom boxes, air horns, bells or the like into the gym.

If you do not find the information you need on this page please feel free to contact Briana Johnson, Tournament Administrator, and she can help point you in the right direction.
